The beer

Sliderule was one of our very early goses, and like Chariot and Spyglass it later made the move to a Fruit Tart recipe. A batch took 750 pounds of raspberries and 150 pounds of cacao nibs.

The chocolate is what made it a winter beer. Raspberry by itself could have gone out any month of the year, but raspberry with chocolate is a flavor people want when it's cold out, so Sliderule became our winter seasonal.

Where it took us

This is the beer that got us known around the region as the fruit brewery. It was also one of our first cans to reach retail shelves, which means that for a lot of people, a can of Sliderule was the first Urban Artifact they ever picked up.

There was a barrel-aged version too, Vanilla Sliderule, released in 2017.

The label

A scientist stands on the label holding a slide rule in one hand and a beaker in the other. What she is studying has been debated here for years. A slide rule is for calculation and a beaker is for chemistry, and no one has produced an experiment that needs both at once. The debate is ongoing. We welcome theories.
