Taproom
1660 Blue Rock Street, in Northside. The bar sits inside the Fruit Castle, our 1876 church, under what is left of the stained glass, which means the beer travels about as short a distance as beer is ever likely to travel.
Wednesday is Fresh Fruit Tart
Real fresh fruit, processed and blended here and put into a keg of neutral base beer. One keg, and no second run at it. It lands on Wednesday and is usually gone before the weekend, and for a few fruits it is the only honest way to meet them, because a keg does not get pasteurized and a can does. Prickly pear is the clearest case, since in a can it reaches the glass a warm sand colour, and on a Wednesday it does not.
Hours and what is pouring
Before you come
There is no kitchen, so no food service at the moment. Kids are welcome with a grown up paying attention. Dogs are welcome in the courtyard.
The rest of the Fruit Castle
The taproom shares a roof with a music venue, a reception hall called The Reliquary, and Radio Artifact, so what any given evening sounds like depends partly on who else booked the building. The calendar lives on the Events page, and the scale behind the beer is explained on the Fruit Guide.
